field:work Drawing With Code
Sat, 26 Sept 2026, 15:00
Singapore, Singapore
Free
Originally organized by jo+kapi ✦︎. An afternoon translating the oldest art-school exercise... sitting in front of a still life and drawing what you see, but with code. We'll set up an arrangement of physical objects in the Lab, then spend the session writing code-based responses to it. Instead of pencil and paper, you'll have a tool that we've created for you. The question becomes: how can we see the world through algorithms? What does this medium abstract or exaggerate? What kind of picture emerges when a scene is described in loops, coordinates, and rules rather than lines? The workshop is less about producing polished images and more about treating computation as a way of seeing. Bring a laptop. Beginner-friendly. Starter code and objects provided. Part of Workshops & Explorations, field:work's monthly series exploring creative coding, generative systems, and computation as an artistic medium. Venue: Arts x Tech Lab, Singapore, SG. Registration is handled by the original organizer. Original event and organizer: https://luma.com/mdkzw4jk
