Originally organized by Dev Korea. (영어 뒤에 한국어 번역이 있습니다) AI moves fast. New models, bold claims, and constant headlines can make it difficult to know what has actually changed—and what it means for you. Join K Choi for a closer look at the ideas, economics, and limitations behind today's AI race. With LLMs still rooted in the Transformer architecture introduced in 2017, this talk examines the industry's focus on scale and release velocity, and why hallucination remains an unresolved challenge. Support this event We’re looking for companies to support food and beverages for this meetup. Sponsors receive logo placement on the event banner, in the recap video, and in the recap article, social media shout-outs, and 2–3 minutes on stage to introduce their company or product. What we’ll explore What Anthropic and OpenAI’s IPO ambitions reveal about the economics of training and inference. How Chinese labs use distillation to make open-weight models competitive. What AI-assisted progress on math problems such as Navier–Stokes actually demonstrates, and how that compares with the headlines. How developers and non-technical people can make sense of AI amid hype, uncertainty, and instability. Whether you build with AI or simply want to understand it better, come for a thoughtful discussion and a chance to connect with Seoul’s international tech community. Beginners are welcome.
