Originally organized by Evelyn Gracie. Change. The passage of time. Shifting homelands, city life, ecologies - whether through growth or destruction, change often leaves a space behind, and we come to name it "grief". What if we sat mindfully with this space, and felt it instead as a realm of possibility? Berlin moves fast. An evening to unwind and reconnect with nature, art and cultural heritage. I´ll share with you insights from my own creative practice, leaving the city behind through myths and stories of subarctic islands far from Berlin. We´ll explore two rooms of visual art together, using ancestry as a way to connect more deeply with ourselves and our place in nature, and sensing the sea as an atmosphere for uncovered histories, reflection, and stillness beneath the surface. You will also have the option to leave your own mark behind, on what will become a collaborative piece for future exhibitions. We´ll follow the talk with an experiential listening session, where you can immerse yourself in a live soundscape performance by Icelandic composer Haukur Þór Harðarson. If you can´t make the talk, join us from 7pm for the listening experience. After the listening session we´ll have an open space to socialise until 9pm. Bar with drinks and light refreshments available at the venue. Doors 6pm, Talk at 6:30 About the Artist✨ Evelyn Gracie is a Scottish artist whose work is an enquiry into social and ecological change - using concepts such as deep time, heritage and potential futures as touchpoints to inform present day perspectives. She has worked and exhibited in London, Kenya, Paris, with a history of environmental and sustainability projects which continue to inform her fine art practice. About the Music✨ Icelandic composer Haukur Þór Harðarson has composed for Deutsche Oper, Trio Abstrakt, and Icelandic Symphony Orchestra. Harðarson’s work probes the physicality of the space in which listening occurs, exploring the possibility of bringing the listener into closer contact with the acoustic space and time in which they find themselves. Free entry. Come and mingle, meet the artist and absorb an atmosphere of visual and sonic delights. Venue: Denizen, Berlin, DE. Registration is handled by the original organizer.
