Join us at A Small Place Bookshop on Edgewood to discuss Deesha Philyaw's latest, The True Confessions of First Lady Freeman. ***We've partnered with A Small Place Bookshop for our November pick (and final book of 2026), The Four Wives and Five Deaths of Richard Milford, and will have 10 copies on-site available for purchase, in addition to other books. Thank you for helping us support our host and local indie bookstores.*** FAQ's + Notes Q. Can I come if I haven't finished the book? Absolutely! Now, be 100% prepared for spoilers, but please don't let that deter you from coming. We'd love to meet you and have you join the conversation and our community. Don't be shy! Q. How's the parking? Free street and paid lot parking are available (but the lot fills up quickly, so if you see free street parking, snag it). Q. Can I bring a +1? Absolutely, but please send them the link so that we can have an accurate headcount and space. Q. What if I can no longer make it? As a courtesy to the community that's hosting and resourcing this event, if plans have changed and you can no longer make it, please update your RSVP ASAP or reach out to us via our Instagram DM so that we have an accurate, updated headcount.
