Originally organized by Los Angeles Design Week/end. Waverly Linens x LAD/W invites you to Table Manners, a free natural dye workshop and group exhibition bringing together local artists to explore what happens when seemingly opposing forces come together. The table is both a physical object and a social stage: a place where we gather, negotiate, celebrate, perform, belong, and sometimes break the rules. Artists were invited to interpret the theme broadly, from the rituals of dining and domestic life to larger social, cultural, and personal systems. Workshop details: 3:30pm and 6:00pm live instructions to learn about the different modifiers to paint with. There will also be self-guided instructions if you cannot attend those times. Join us for a free, collaborative natural dye workshop where we’ll paint naturally dyed tablecloth together while exploring the colors and possibilities of natural dye. Each person will also leave with their own experimental fabric. Learn how to modify colors, come get your hands a little colorful, experiment, and add your own mark to the table.
