Originally organized by David N.. Join us for an evening at Loupe's Portland workshop, where industrial robots and mathematical sculpture share the same floor. Host David Nichols, Loupe CEO and the artist behind @polyhedrist, will show how the tools of automation (CNC, waterjet, robot arms) also build monumental steel polyhedra, including a 9-foot, 3,000-pound pentagonal icositetrahedron. Tour the shop, see live demos, and talk with the team. Makers, engineers, students, and the curious are all welcome. Good to know Arrive anytime between 5:30 and 8:00. David will give a brief tour and Q&A at 6:30 PM. Kids are welcome. Please keep them with you and within arm's reach on the shop floor. ⚠️ Loupe is an active robotics lab and workshop, full of heavy machinery, sharp edges, and potentially dangerous tools and materials. Please ask before touching anything, including the sculptures. Closed-toe shoes are required on the shop floor. Drinks and snacks provided.
